Jan Simon Knikker (‘Jan Knikker Jr.’)

Dutch, Leiden 1911 – 1990 The Hague

Jan Simon Knikker Jr. was born in Leiden. He was the son of painter Jan Simon Knikker Sr. and was probably first taught by him before he went to the Art Academy of The Hague between 1928 and 1932. LIke his father, he painted landscapes, river, winter and city scenes and flower still lifes. To distinguish himself from him Knikker Jr. sometimes signed his works with ‘H. Endlich”.
