The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Drs. Guido de Werd, former director of Museum Haus Koekkoek, Cleves (Germany).

This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Barend Cornelis Koekkoek, which is currently being prepared by Drs. Guido de Werd.

In October 1842, when B.C. Koekkoek exhibited this painting at the Salon of Brussels, he was knighted in the Order of Leopold by the King of Belgium.
